Campus do Mar – Who are we?
Campus do Mar is an Campus of International Excellence (CEI), awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science in 2010 coordinated by University of Vigo (UVigo) and promoted by the three Galician universities, the Spanish Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) and seven Portuguese Universities and Institutes.
It represents a Campus of International Excellence in the fields of Ocean Sciences and Technology, implemented along the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula with an international projection, under the umbrella of the Ocean as a unifying element and competitive advantage.
The Campus intends to be the dynamic force behind a transnational and integrated network of research, education and technology transfer units, supported by the Galician-North of Portugal main stakeholders.
Nowadays, the UVigo has about 22.000 students and 260 research groups.
In the last three years, more than 950 projects confirm the cooperation of the UVigo with the enterprises and economic associations of the Region, the Nation and UE initiatives.
