Horta’s Professional School celebrates the 9th Week of Waste Prevention with an event about marine litter

On the 24th November of 2017 the Professional School of the Horta (Azores islands) was pleased to receive in its auditorium several representatives of three different entities (Observatory of the Azores Sea, Regional Directorate for Fisheries and Regional Directorate for Maritime Affairs) within the scope of the 9th Week of Waste Prevention. The students present were from the classes of Technical Course of Naval Electricity and the class of the Technical Course of Information and Tourist Animation. Several issues related to marine litter and the negative consequences that it causes were discussed and we were, also, alerted to the constant need to prevent the disposal of the waste we produce in the sea. Faced with these issues, the trainees showed themselves interested and awake to this reality.

This was one of the activities hosted by our School that meets the objectives of the EduC02cean project. We participate as a pilot school at the invitation of ASPEA.
